Walking according to the spirit is something that we should do. It is something that we need to do. Romans 8:5:
That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit
If we are going to fulfill “the righteousness of the law” then we are going to have to learn how to walk according to the spirit.

How do we walk according to the spirit? We know that the spirit is holy and we have an idea what spirit is, see: Holy Spirit Defined . Since holy means separated or that which is separate, to walk according to the spirit is a “holy” act.
How Do We Walk According To The Spirit?
This is a very important question. The answer is not that easy. People have asked this question for over two-thousand years now. So what are we to do? How are we going to answer this very important question? The answer must be in the scriptures. So it is there that we must look for our answer.
We want to know that we are walking by the spirit. We want to be sure that we have the right spirit and not a counterfeit. How can we do this? The first thing is to know what God’s written word says_memorize scripture so we have it in our minds. Then line up our thinking with / by this written word. Ask yourself, “Does what I am thinking line up with this written word?”
Remember that the scriptures are God breathed. They are words that come form the spirit, not from man. The scriptures are the “sure word of prophesy.” 2Peter 1:19:
The scriptures are that, “sure word of prophesy” spoken of here in 2Peter 1:19 (hint: memorize this verse!)

God is a spirit. I love Him. He gives us everything that we need to live and that eternally.
If we are going to walk by His spitit, and indeed we must, then we are going to have to get to know Him. We are going to have to learn what His spirit says, and where are we going to learn that? In His word the Bible where His spirit is revealed.
The entire Bible is an prophetic writing. It is all inspired by the spirit. It all came from the spirit. Isn’t that great? The entire Bible is written by the spirit. It is a spiritual book, that is , it did not come from the five senses, but from the spirit which is unseen in the senses relm.

Have You Always Wanted to Know the Truths of God?
God wants us to study the Bible so we can discover what His truth is.
“Looking For Truth in All the Wrong Places”
There once was a man who was searching for God’s truth. He went to every church in town, but was dismayed, for every church had it’s own version of what the truth of God was. Finally he just gave up, saying; “there is no truth.”
If we want to find truth then we have to go to the source of truth: God’s Word the Bible. It alone contains the truth that God has revealed to us men. We can not go to any other source if we want to find the truth. God alone has truth indeed He is truth as Jesus said, “thy word is truth.”(John 17:17)

God Reveals Himself To Man In The Bible
So as we study the Bible we get to know God. As the previous post revealed this is the number-one reason why God wants us to study the Bible_because it is His word to us men, and through it we get to know Him!

“So We Would Get To Know Him”
Imagine that you are God for a moment. You create the world and all that is in it. You make a creature you call “man.” You place him in a garden paradise and give him a book containing your word to him. Now why would you want man to study your word? So he could learn about you_right? So he could get to know you and what you, his creator, would like him to do. That is the number one reason why God gave us His Word the Bible so we would read it and get to know Him.
