We want to know that we are walking by the spirit. We want to be sure that we have the right spirit and not a counterfeit. How can we do this? The first thing is to know what God’s written word says_memorize scripture so we have it in our minds. Then line up our thinking with / by this written word. Ask yourself, “Does what I am thinking line up with this written word?”
Remember that the scriptures are God breathed. They are words that come form the spirit, not from man. The scriptures are the “sure word of prophesy.” 2Peter 1:19:
“We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed…”
The scriptures are that, “sure word of prophesy” spoken of here in 2Peter 1:19 (hint: memorize this verse!)
