When you believe, God seals you in His holy spirit. It is a gift from God. Isn't that wonderful? What is the holy spirit? The holy spirit is a spirit from God that he puts inside you when you believe in Him. It is a free gift. You don't have to do anything but believe.

Let's take a look at God's word the Bible and see what it has to say about the holy spirit.

Romans 5:5:

And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit which is given to us.

Isn't this interesting? Not only does God give us His gift of holy spirit but He also pours His love into our hearts through that spirit. It is truly a great gift. Let's take a look at what else God's word the Bible says about this gift.

Romans 8:9-11:

But you are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin: but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

So we see that the spirit of God dwells in us. Isn't that tremendous? God loved us so much that He put His spirit within us.

Let's take a look at I Corinthians 3:16:

Know ye not that ye are a temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

II Corinthians 1:22:

Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.

Isn't that wonderful? God has sealed us, saying that we belong to Him, we are His property. An "earnest" is like a down payment or a deposit, it shows that God is truly interested in purchasing us. This verse tells us where the Spirit of God is within us: it is in our hearts, the very center of our beings.

Galatians 4:6:

And because ye are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.

Now you are a child of God. Isn't that extraordinary? You were not a child of God, but now you are. How great is that?

Ephesians 1:13:

In whom ye also, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise.

This verse says clearly that after we believe then God gives us his holy spirit. So we must do what? believe. When we believe then He gives us His Spirit. So let's believe.

I Thessalonians 4:8:

He therefore that despiseth, despiseth not man, but God, who hath also given unto us his holy Spirit.

We are not to despise one another because God has given us His Holy Spirit. He has accepted us into His kingdom and life, so, we are not to reject one another. For He has sealed us in His Holy Spirit.
